My recent trip to the World Coaches Conference in Turkey was a fantastic experience.
I had the privilege of being asked to be a hitter on the opening day with some of the best coaches in the game namely Francis Roig (ESP), Technical Director for the Barcelona Total Tennis Academy and former coach to professional player Feliciano Lopez and Albert Costa, who focused his session on the movement and strokes in high performance tennis.
In a similar on-court presentation, Tennis Director for Club Med Academies, Gabe Jaramillo (USA) drew on his experience while working with eight previously ranked world No. 1 players which included Pete Sampras and Monica Seles, with how a junior player transitions to a professional player.
The conference was also highlighted by former players turned coaches, Biljana Veselinovic (former coach of Lucie Safarova, Nadia Petrova and Alize Cornet) and Dominik Hrbaty, former world #12 and now a coach with the Turkish Tennis Federations Davis Cup squad.
